This painting started from two sources: a background intended for an abstract and a photo taken at the NY Flowers Show around 1984. The photo was an old print and very faded. I used real flowers as models as shown here. First, a blue and silver textured background was used. Next is a color block of shapes and primary colors. Each progression adds dimension and texture. Final progressions add details and shadings.
